The Dark Wizard has cast his spell
screams from the caves of the far mountains
Fireballs from hell
shoot at the innocent, the Devil’s dance
The souls of the lost travel west
in hope of finding peace and salvation
a warm receiving chest
to keep them from damnation
But forever lost
for fighting for no reason
the only way for them to rest
is known, in our world, as treason
That path they have to follow
and at the end they know at once
that tomorrow –
They’re remembered by their loved ones
the third stanza is particularly poignant as we tend to fall right in with your declaration fighting for no reason....vivid imagery...nice one shot.
AntwortenLöschenExcellent. I really enjoyed the dark imagery and tone.

That's why we have White Wizards!
AntwortenLöschenNice One Shot.
dang - this last line is sad and unfortunately too often true - fighting for no reason and everyone thinks he has a reason...great you have linked up with one shot..
AntwortenLöschenI liked it...

Strong fantasy crossed with hard reality theme poem. Solid stuff.
